  1. Hi Alex,

My friend Brian and I just finished up our Peace Corps service in Micronesia and now are doing some world travels. We are coming through Nepal for a few weeks (feb 26th-march 19th) and would love to meet up with some PCV's. We are probably gonna do the Annapurna base camp trek, but have no other plans besides that.

Where are you in Nepal? What are you up to over the next few weeks?

No worries if you arent able to meet up, but if you have any other suggestions, advice, or comments we would love to here them.

shoot me an email at john.hunter2020@gmail.com if you get a chance.

    Peace,

  2. I am a nepali living in the states for the past 14 years. After reading your blogs(sometimes very funny) and knowing what you are doing in my country, makes me very happy! Thank you for all your help and sacrifice. I know living in Nepal under those condition isn't ideal for most american people, but you are doing it!

  3. Oh my goodness. This amazing. I am a returned PCV from Cameroon- unfortunately unable to complete my service and was only in country for 6 months when I learned my father had stage 4 cancer- ANYWAYS I'm going through a life crisis on whether or not to go back to the Peace Corps and just stumbled across your blog.
This is phenomenal. Although I was in a completely different country, I cannot tell you how much your posts made me laugh and how incredibly similar they were to my life in the savannah! Having intense deja vue right now and it's great. A memory of two limber little Cameroonians crawling into my roof and killing bats keeps coming back to me.
But anyways the Peace Corps was a dream of mine for so long and I feel I must return and complete service, however I'm also very interested in working in Nepal and potentially transferring as a volunteer there! I was with the agroforestry program in Cameroon and am curious to hear more about your experiences in Nepal and where you guys are all serving!

  4. Hi Alex!

I'm enjoying your blog, but I'm also keenly interested in it. I have my Peace Corps interview coming up, and Nepal is at the top of my list for location preference. If you have any tips, comments, or suggestions for me, going through the process, or about Nepal, I would appreciate and email: killarney1107@gmail.com.

    Cheers,
    Jess

  5. Hi Alex,
I am Sanjit Pradhananga, a features writer and editor with ECS media in Kathmandu. I was researching CAMP GLOW today, hoping to write a feature piece on it in one of our magazines. I am so glad I found you and your delightful blog! I has hoping to ask if you would be interested in publishing your memoir about your sojourn in Nepal in our magazines, or at the very least answer few of my questions regarding your experiences here. I think your blog is both insightful and powerful and demands a wider readership.

If this is something that interests you please contact me at sanjit.pradhananga.ecs@gmail.com
I look forward to hearing back from you,
    Regards,
    Sanjit Pradhananga

  6. Dear Alex, I am a former Nepal PCV (184) and am really loving reading your blog, though it makes me very homesick. I was wondering if it would be at all possible to email you a letter to my Nepali family and ask you to post it to them in Palpa. I remember that letters sent directly to my village from the U.S. were often opened and sometimes didn't get there. If this would be a hassle at all, I totally understand. If you can do it, I'd be forever in your debt, though, and if you ever got to San Francisco, there'd be a bagel, at least, in it for you. Thanks very much. My email address is twobelow@gmail.com. All best, Marian
